MODERN HOUSE FAMILY

The building is designed on the north-east part of the site, to use the most of daylight and have a view to the western land, in case of future extend of the land on the west side.

We preferred to design a two-story building, to limit the footprint of the house and providing best possible light for bedrooms. This resulted in north light for two of the bedrooms and east/south light for the third one. Another advantage of adding a second floor was the given covered area by the pool, which can use as an open gathering area.

We divided the garden into two sections:

First: a small courtyard surrounded by building on 2 sides, a covered gathering area and the pool. Second: the garden area, with trees to cover the neighbor’s view and the possibility to be expanded.

The whole concept of design in based on these open spaces, and the idea of dividing the building into two private and public section. The interior courtyard is used to separate private area, including bedrooms, hobby rooms and garage, from more public areas of the house such as living room. Garage is connected to private areas of the house with immediate access to boiler room and lumber room.

Almost all main areas of the house have view over the courtyard and pool. A simple white cement is used for façade with large windows towards the garden. However, we used a warm color in living room and master bedroom along with wood furniture to create a friendly and warm environment.

MODERN FAMILY HOUSE

The building is designed on the north-east part of the site, to use the most of daylight and have a view to the western land, in case of future extend of the land on the west side.

We tried to open up the house to this west-side garden, while the eastern side of the house is more rigid along the main road. This has been affected our windows, where we used large scale windows to the courtyard and smaller windows on the east side.

Our challenge was the location of kitchen, as it works with both living room and bedrooms. Our final decision was to have a big kitchen overlooking courtyard, with a separate patio, close to living room. However, we added the glass partition to give the chance to completely separate kitchen from living room.

The south part of the building, including all private areas is rotated to the east, to let the courtyard have south light, and a wider view to the bedrooms. This rotation also helped us to create a unique entrance to the building. An expose staircase is designed at the intersection of two parts of the house with easy access from the main door.

Almost all main areas of the house have view over the courtyard and pool. A simple white cement is used for façade with large windows towards the garden. However, we used a warm color in living room and master bedroom along with wood furniture to create a friendly and warm environment.
